Why do Post Natal/ Mama and Baby Yoga?
For the baby - gentle movements, touch and rhythm that strengthen the physical body, stimulates the senses, helps with digestion (can help colicky babies), teaches babies to move from reflex to voluntary movements and helps develop motor neuron skills and the vestibular system. Plus it’s fun to sing with, be moved by and massaged by Mum! Most suitable for babies 12weeks+
For Mums- through breath work, gentle yet focussed movement and stretches we work on rebuilding you from the inside out. Attention is given to the pelvic floor, the deep abdominal muscles, building stability in the core and re-connection to the whole body. We stretch and release tightness that often appears in the shoulders, neck, upper back due to feeding, carrying and tension. We also aim for some relaxation and massage to soothe and emotionally replenish. Time for chat and connection with other new mums too 😊
For mum and baby - a unique time to connect even further, bond deeply and have some fun together! This is your class and there is no pressure. Feed, change, comfort, laugh, move and relax together (yes it is possible! Amazing how many mums and babies drift off together at the end of class!)
