Joanna O’Meally is a British, 200hr accredited Hatha Yoga Teacher and Mum to two little ones. Jo specialises in teaching Pregnancy, Post Natal Yoga and Mama and Baby Yoga and trained with the Yoga Alliance UK accredited organisation Birthlight. All classes are taught in English.

After qualifying as a hatha yoga teacher in London in 2010, Jo became pregnant. She was introduced to prenatal yoga and was moved by the positive effect, both physically and emotionally, it had on her well being throughout her pregnancy and beyond. Jo decided to focus on teaching this practice and since then has found immense satisfaction from sharing its benefits with many mums. Jo teaches small and personal pregnancy and post natal/ baby yoga classes. She feels there is much to be gained from women, whether pregnant or having recently given birth, coming together to connect and share experiences.

At the heart  of the classes Jo teaches, is one simple yet precise movement, originating from the sacrum. This is the basis for all the standing and seated movements that we do throughout the class. This breaks down tensions in the body to find a natural softness, it helps cultivate space in the spine, the lower back and belly and it uses the feet to build strength in the legs and naturally activate the pelvic floor. It also enables connection to the ground (mother earth), to those around us and most importantly your baby. 

Jo is currently teaching at The Well Woman Centre and Happy Milk and welcomes ladies from all over Barcelona and beyond. Available to run workshops, classes, small organised groups of friends and 1:1’s, all taught in English.

2010: 200hr Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Yoga from YogaProfessionals. Awarded by YMCA Awards and the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs)

2010: Teaching Vinyasa 2 day CPD Certificate Course - 6 REPs

2012 - 2014: Yoga Sadhana Course: Over 1000 hours yoga self-practice and 80 hours course contact time spread over 10 weekends a year with Jonathan Monks creator and founder of YogaMonks.se 

2014- 2015: Throughout my own Pregnancy and Post Natal period Maternity Moves training with Jonathan Monks. The method is created by Jonathan Monks, a practitioner of Yoga and Tai Chi of 28 and 11 years. He has spent the last fifteen years teaching, lecturing and continues to research and develop his work into Maternity Moves.

2017: Birthlight Motherhood Yoga Training Qualification; Pregnancy, Birth, Postnatal and Baby Yoga. 30 hrs: Yoga Alliance UK Accredited. Course Tutor: Birthlight Director of Training Sally Lomas.  At Omshanti Studio
